THYLANE AND VERONIKA

Paris, Chanel and Thylane Blondeau
Let's see, Paris. Oh yeah, it's Paris, no explanation needed. Next Chanel. Mmmmmmmmm do I accept that invitation to the CHANEL SS16 show that was delivered direct from HQ by a very French bellboy? It would be silly to actually answer that question wouldn't it? Then there is Thylane Blondeau, the fourteen year old French model and actress who is undeniably breathtakingly beautiful and who I believe will have a career possibly as iconic as her French predecessors Jane Birkin and Bridgitte Bardot. Three very good reasons to pack my bags and say "adieu mess amours".

We met by chance on a beach in St Tropez ( a story for another time) where I was most impressed by her gentle nature and true teenage spirit. Very much like her mother, photographer Veronika Loubry, it was the relationship between the two of them that planted the seed for this shoot. I liked Veronika immediately, she was funny, fierce and all about family. It's this connection that will protect and serve Thylane well as she navigates the waters of fame and fortune ahead.
Which brings us to the then now where on the eve of the CHANEL SS16 show (where Thylane was sitting front row, you know, normal fourteen year old stuff) I was very fortunate to work with Italian photographer Stefania Paparelli who shot Thylane and Veronika in the CHANEL fall winter collection on a wintry Parisian afternoon.
